Letter from the Steering Committee
December 2006
Dear Friend,
Greetings. Venerable Tenzin Kacho and the members of the Thubten Shedrup Ling (TSL) Steering Committee wish you and yours a Happy Holiday season. We send you this letter in the hope that you will remember us and lend your financial support. When we engage in the practice of generosity towards Dharma centers, we give others the opportunity to learn about compassion, wisdom, and the Buddhist view. It is your support that enables TSL to cover expenses for visiting teachers, translators, and allows us to host retreats.
In the spring of 2005, our teacher, Venerable Tenzin, left Colorado Springs to enter a three month retreat in California. Subsequently, she had the good fortune to become coordinator for His Holiness the Dalai Lama's visit in Los Angeles. Most recently, Venerable Tenzin has received the honor of appointment as Assistant Spiritual Director of Thubten Dhargye Ling (TDL) in Long Beach. She will work closely with Venerable Geshe Tsultim Gyeltsen, teach, and continue her chaplaincy service. Given these new commitments, Venerable Tenzin will be coming to Colorado Springs quarterly.
In between these visits, TSL continues its regular meetings led by students. Wednesday nights at Shove Chapel include guided meditation and traditional Buddhist practices, readings and discussions. Saturday morning meetings offer more studies and discussions. Both meetings use texts by H. H. the Dalai Lama. Our discussions provoke deeper inquiry and fortify our continuing exploration of the Dharma. Venerable Tenzin continually reminds us to see every situation as an opportunity to strengthen our personal practice. She encourages us to be in contact with her regularly with questions that arise during our meetings.
TSL is a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit organization; donations are tax deductible. 100% of contributions go toward local Dharma activities. Contributions can be made to:
